Kyrgyzstan has a continental climate. You can enjoy all of the four seasons in Kyrgyzstan: Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.

How do I get from the airport to my accommodation?
The team members from the International Office will arrange the transportation from the airport to the accommodations

Usually it is around $300 a month.
Is accommodation provided for nonresident students?
AIU assists in finding accommodation for nonresident and international students.
Can I live in a flat or should I live in the dormitory?
We recommend that first year students should live in a dormitory. After the first year, a student makes a choice between a dormitory and apartment.
What is the language of instruction at the university?
The language of instruction is English. There are also some classes in Russian.
When does the semester start?
The Fall semester begins on September 1st.
How can I transfer credits from another university to AIU?
You can transfer credits from another university by submitting official transcripts.
Do I have to buy books for classes? How much do they cost?
No, you don’t have to buy books. You can take the books from the library.
How many years do I have to study to get a Bachelor’s degree?
It takes four academic years to get a Bachelor’s degree.
What is the average class size?
Usually there are about 15-20 students in a class.
Which extracurricular activities are there?
There are many sports and cultural activities at the university. Students can enjoy playing such sports as football, basketball, volleyball, tennis and other sports. Also there are many cultural activities for students such as concerts and theatrical performances.
What is the admission deadline?
The deadline is 15h of September 2019.
What documents should be submitted with my application?
• Application form
• Copy of High School diploma
• Copy of passport
• ID photos of size 3x4 (8 pieces).
How can I pay the application fee?
You can make a payment to the AIU account.
How long does it take to get an admission decision?
It depends on official procedure, but usually it takes about 2 weeks.

Please send an email to the Admissions Department. The Admissions Department will inform you about your admission status.
